Organising your wedding ceremony

Pollokshields burgh hills are licenced by the Marriage (Scotland) Act 1977, Marriage (Approval of places) (Scotland) Regulations 2002 and are an approved place in which to hold a civil marriage or civil partnership.

All the spaces at the halls are licensed and the seating capacities are listed below. As it is a requirement for the Hall to provide seating for the ceremony our duty officer will place chairs as required.

Below shows the maximum number of guests each room is licenced for, for civil marriages or partnerships.

Maxwell hall 130
Stirling hall 60
Boardroom 15

Lower Ground floor-

Religious ceremonies of all denominations are most welcome to be conducted at the Burgh Hall.

The Humanist Society Scotland are able to perform Humanists marriages performed by one of their Marriage Celebrants, their ceremonies are entirely secular, non religious but after that the couples choice. They are authorised by the Registrar General for Scotland and perform fully legal marriages. Their celebrants carry the licence personally so you would deal with them directly, phone 0300 302 0680 or email ceremonies@humanism.scot alternatively visit their website www.humanism.scot .
