Weddings at Pollokshields Burgh Hall

The most special day in your life deserves a unique venue. The charm and flexability of Pollokshields Burgh Hall makes it perfect for any wedding celebration.

Wedding receptions are held throughout the year on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, however we can also host your wedding on a weekday through the busy summer months.

You can host a reception only or as we hold a wedding licence you can marry within the halls, whether your choice is a religious, civil or a humanist ceremony.

We can provide a list of caterers who have worked at the halls, alternatively you can view this list within the Useful Links section.

We have a choice of round or rectangular tables with chairs and can suggest a variety of arrangements depending on your wishes or numbers. We have also recently purchased 120 white chiavari chairs which can be hired as an alternative to our regular gold chairs you can find out more on our Wedding Prices page.

Also, please note that we operate as a zero VAT rated charitable Trust. Our remit is to book you a choice of beautiful well maintained and comfortable rooms, with tables, chairs, occasional and garden furniture. We are pleased to advise that the caterers and bar service on our approved list have considerable experience of hosting weddings and can manage everything on your day from a hospitality perspective. They are backed up in their role by our duty officer who is on hand to ensure the building is fully functioning for your comfort, and to oversee the health and safety of all visitors.

In May 2018 the Trust updated its Fire Safety System for the Hall. At the same time we took the opportunity to update our Fire Safety Risk Assessment, with particular attention to the guidance of fire safety professionals. As a result of this we updated our Terms and Conditions relevant to the use of candles. We are aware that clients do like candles at their weddings but please work with us on this. We now ask for sturdy containers for candles such as storm jars of an appropriate size and we have some LED battery operated candles which can be borrowed. For historic bookings, please note that the final say on health and safety matters has always rested with the Trust and staff on duty in charge. We kindly ask for your co-operation in helping us preserve our building, and ensuring everyone’s safety.

More information about candles and safety concerns can be found at the Safety Management UK website.

If you are interested in hosting an event at our Halls, please note we will be having an Open Viewing on Sunday 14th October 2018, 2 - 4pm.
